Region 9 – April 2006 Minutes

 

Region 9 held its April meeting on April 19, 2006 at 7:30PM with Region Director Russ Shetley presiding.

 

Clubs in Attendance:

General Business:

 

  • Region 9 is in need of a Youth Coordinator
  • The State has a new Conservation Director – Larry Edwards
  • Region 9 has a new website up and running. Check it out and make comments for improvements or changes
  • Butch Sickler made a presentation for Virginia C.A.S.T for Kids. They will need 15-20 boats sometime during September for a tournament to take kids fishing followed by a BQ. More info to follow.
  • Motion by Bull Run and seconded by OBC to change BASS to Bass in all Articles of Incorporation at the State Level. Roll call vote was unanimous.
  • Bob Pettey discussed end of year projected Check Book Balance and it does not look good. Clubs need to consider ways for Region 9 to cut expenses and discuss these at the next meeting. Some suggestions were rasie dues, raise entry fees, Change end of year payouts, make changes to 20 man team (Region does not pay for hotel expenses and does not give each member $ 50).
